Lake
view House
| A home in the woods
was designed with the client's one request in mind: to be able to enjoy
the lake view and the mountain view all the time. As a result, an
elongated floor plan with each room in the house as "one room deep" giving
both views to all the rooms. The clients love the great outdoors
and love living in the middle of the woods. With multiple windows,
you never lose sight of where you are in context with the outside.
The steep site's slope, complexities, and exposures also added to the unique
floor plan's design. |

Large and open spaces
inside the house emulate the feeling of freedom from boundaries - just
like being outside. Natural materials are used on the exterior for
their subtlety - mocha colored true three coat stucco, stone from a local
quarry, and cedar shingle roof. |

The natural materials inside the
house create a personal experience even in a room with twenty foot ceilings.
Warm heart pine wood, natural stone fireplaces, handcrafted trim, handmade
doors, and built-ins create a welcoming and cozy home. |
